Uniform
SCHOOL UNIFORM
Gunton Primary Academy has a school uniform for all full-time children.
From September 2013 Governors, staff, parents and children have decided it will be compulsory.
Nursery children may wear their own clothes (but nothing too special – they spend a lot of time doing messy things!).
To make the uniform more enjoyable to wear, we decided to brighten it up with a red sweatshirt, bearing the school logo.
Girls Grey or black skirt or school trousers
White blouse or polo shirt
Red sweatshirt or cardigan
Red checked/striped dresses can be worn in the warmer months
Sensible black shoes– no high heels, clogs, slingbacks or trainers
Boys Black or grey school trousers
White shirt or polo shirt
Red sweatshirt
Black or grey school shorts can be worn in the warmer months
Sensible black shoes – no trainers
P.E. Kit
In addition to the uniform, all children (with the exception of those in the Nursery) will need:
A pair of shorts, a T-shirt and a pair of plimsolls / trainers in a P.E. bag.
A jumper and tracksuit bottoms for the colder weather would be useful.
Years 3 + 4 go swimming for a term each year and need swimming kits.
P.E. kit should be in school every day and P.E. kit needs to be in a small bag that can easily be hung on your child’s peg.
For the younger children, it is often useful to have a clean pair of underwear and socks at school, in case of accidents!
School sweatshirts, book bags and P.E. bags can be bought from our suppliers, ‘Screens’ who are based in Rant Score, in Lowestoft (near the ‘Lowestoft Family Bowl’), and can be contacted on 581010. Uniform from ‘Screens’ can also be ordered online.
Please ensure that all clothes are clearly labelled. This includes coats, shoes, hats etc. Children are very good at losing their possessions, and not very good at looking for them – if clothes are labeled, it makes life much easier! Lost property will be put in the wooden box in the atrium, so you can trace missing items.
