Reception Admissions
Applications for Reception children should be made directly to Suffolk County Council as our Local Authority by 15th January.
Suffolk County Council will contact you with the outcome of your application. We will then contact you with regards to school information and transition arrangements.
In Year Admissions
Families of children who are already at school and wish to join Gunton Primary Academy, can apply using our school's In Year Admission Form. This can be found below. We will then contact you to arrange a visit, provide you with information and decide upon an appropriate start date for your child(ren) should we have available space.

Deadlines for admissions to high school and primary
Consultation on Gunton Primary Academy’s admission arrangements 2027/2028
REAch2 Academy Trust (the Trust), as the admission authority for all of its academies as per the admissions code 2021, is consulting on the admission arrangements for Gunton Primary Academy. It is the responsibility of the Trust to determine the arrangements for all of its schools, ensuring that they are fully compliant with the admissions code 2021 and other statutory legislation, such as the Equalities Act 2010.
On 22nd October 2025, the Trust Board approved Gunton Primary’s Published Admissions Number (PAN) to reduce from 45 (1 ½ FE) to 30 (1FE). The reduction in PAN primarily reflects the changing demand within the local planning area. The Trust have consulted with the Local Authority who support the reduction due to their own council data indicating a sustained surplus of school places in the area for the foreseeable future.

The consultation will run from 24th November 2025 to 23rd January 2026.
